Samia is a filmmaker, mentor, and strategist whose work lives at the intersection of narrative power, embodied liberation, and systemic change.

Recognized by Forbes Magazine and the World Economic Forum as one of the top filmmakers making compelling, character-driven films on climate change, Samia has directed for Amazon Prime, CNN, the White House, and the Wall Street Journal, the New York Times, and the New Yorker among others. She is a Sundance Fellow and her films have screened at DOC NYC, Tribeca, and Mountain Film Festival. She has interviewed and filmed with President Biden, Michelle Obama, Oprah Winfrey, and dozens of global leaders.

Her second life — equally credentialed, equally public — is as a healer and facilitator. Trained in somatic and ancestral healing modalities, Samia works with people navigating the gap between who they are and who systems have demanded they become. Her original framework, the Freedom from Compliance Method, draws on her two decades of experience, her study of plant medicine, and the ancestral wisdom carried in her body as a Pakistani immigrant who has lived across four continents.

These two worlds are not separate. They have always been the same work: helping people find and tell the true story of who they are.

Samia lives in the woods of the Hudson Valley, speaks Urdu and Spanish. She speaks and facilitates at global conferences and is available for keynotes, workshops, and residencies.
